Gifts of the Holy Spirit

--

By Zaina Starr

We all are born with special gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit. We have to use these gifts with love. It’s our own responsibilities to learn from them and to help others with our abilities of the gifts the Holy Spirit has provided for us.

Administration is the gift that identifies goals and to organize people to accomplish those goals.

Discernment is the gift of identifying the root cause of someone’s actions; whether their actions are divinely humanly or satanically inspired. This is done by interpreting body language and tone. Spotting closed and open doors, recognize God-given dreams, know which desires are from God, to obey the prompting of God, to read people. Discern comes from the Greek word epignosis, which is knowledge gained by firsthand contact, also experimental. This is street smarts that have become fine-tuned over time. The interpretation should be cross-checked with scripture.

Evangelism is the gift to present the gospel to unbelievers in ways that have a great effect.

Exhortation is the gift to administer words of meaningful life-changing encouragement, growth, or warning to another.

Faith is the gift of extraordinary confidence that moves you to act on what you believe but can’t yet see.
