Home Is Where The Heart Is

--

By Zaina Starr

A place I am thankful for is home, when things are bad. Having anxiety and depression, the worst feelings in the world, causes me to crave home. Having an escape from reality, I crave a place, I call home.

When I’m home, my body, mind, and spirit are all relaxed. I rest, adequately, eat normally, and negative energy is easier to release. A relaxing and comforting place is what I need to be normal, and that is my home.

My home is my comfort, I turn to when I need to feel loved, and have comfort. I do not have a companion or even a best friend. I have nobody to comfort me, or even try. I’ve learned to adapt to what is easily available, and that’s home.

At home, I feel safe, alone, relaxed, and content. It’s nice to have someone to lean on and be intimate with. When you have no one, a place becomes easier ti find comfort in, because a place will never leave you. It stays loyal.

“Home is where the heart is.”
