Imaginary Friends

--

By Zaina Starr

We should all have an imaginary friend. Someone who we can call “ours.” Children grow up and leave us. Lovers either outgrow us or die before us. Someone who can be all what we want them to be and nothing less. Children always are the opposite of what we preach to them. Lovers never hear the message until it's too late. When one has moved on and there's nothing left to tell one another what we want. We will never have disappointment. We could all have the real love that we need and thrive for.
Imaginary friends will always be there when we need them. They can always be counted on. They know everything about is and still want to be apart of our lives. They will be the best friend we never had. We can have that unexplainable love that not everyone knows how to give or receive. That imaginary friend is our rock and the one and only ride or die, who we all have been lied to about having but could never match up to it.
Imaginary friends are the answers to all dreams. A complete fix of the human soul. Life would always be worth fighting for, with no regrets. Like we have always had. Can't want nothing more but to have someone like am imaginary friend. But nobody can have. Everyone needs an imaginary friend. A friend, to be loved with no regrets.
